DEMOLITION Projects | Working at the biggest refinerie
The largest refinery in Europe asked DDM to perform demolition works for them. The works for this project comprised the removal of various tanks and tank farms, a production facility and piping in more than 30 pipelines spread over the refinery in Rotterdam.
It was agreed with the client that the work would be performed by a select team of our own personnel and machinery. It was also a given fact that the components to be removed were partly located amidst installations that would be remaining in operation.
The work took just under two years and in that time 2,481.5 tonnes of metal were expertly dismantled and taken away. During this work, various components were dismantled by lifting them off.
The works were safely performed by on average 8 specialist personnel and using breaker/excavators.
The client’s strict safety regulations and DDM’s own safety goals were a good match. It can also be reported that during the entire period of the works, no incidents arose.
