On 22nd January DDM UK started the dismantling and demolition of a papermill in North Wales.
Phase One of the works consists of the removal of approximately 225t of stainless steel tanks, pipework and process equipment as well as 250t of access gantries and support structures.
The client has their head office in Finland but operate world wide. As with all multinational clients, safety is priority and much of the early work on site has been about relationship building and developing trust The DDM site team has been manually dismantling much of the equipment and removing it using the two large overhead cranes. Some of the larger plant requires splitting and removing in sections for further processing outside the building. On the lower floor, the pipework and equipment will be removed using hot works and by an 8t Excavator (Crane).
