DDM achieves CO2 performance ladder level 3 certificate!

Sustainability is an important topic within DDM. It has our full attention on the projects: attention for employees, for the reuse of sustainable materials, for efficient energy consumption, for the reuse of equipment and materials and, finally, for the highest possible recycling percentage.

To get an even better picture of the CO2 emissions within the organisation, DDM has chosen to be certified for the CO2 performance ladder level 3. The CO2 performance ladder is an instrument to gain insight into CO2 reduction within the organisation. The CO2 performance ladder certificates of DDM can be found on the website on the pages 'Safety first' and 'Sustainability'.

Level 3 means that DDM has an official CO2 emissions inventory drawn up in accordance with the ISO14064-1 standard and verified by an independent body. DDM has quantitative targets for its own CO2 emissions. Furthermore, DDM structurally communicates internally and externally about its CO2 footprint and actively participates in the VERAS CO2 Industry Initiative.

One of DDM's objectives is for its head office in De Meern to be energy-neutral by 2026. This requires the entire building to generate its own building-related energy. The first steps in this have already been taken in 2018 by equipping the entire workshop and warehouse with solar panels.

DDM's ambition is to become even more sustainable by investing in sustainable materials and resources. It recently invested in more sustainable equipment. Namely in a wire crane and demolition excavator with a stage V engine and stationary stop function. DDM intends to continue this line.
