Are you the strong link between executor and team? Are you indestructible and will you go to extremes for a customer? Then this vacancy is for you!
Without you, work cannot be done. You are the link between the main executor and the team. You ensure that everyone knows what to do, provide guidance and implement where necessary. You coordinate, arrange and manage. You ensure that all materials received are removed, stored and disposed of in accordance with the guidelines. You arrange and manage work permits and monitor strict compliance with safety regulations, both by your colleagues and by suppliers and subcontractor employees.
You give instructions and hold toolbox meetings. You anticipate potentially dangerous situations and keep all employees alert by regularly pointing out the risks of the work. You ensure that the work is carried out on behalf of the executor.
You carry out all checks and inspections in the work plan. Finally, you perform all kinds of supporting work for the executor, project leader, DTA, calculator and work planner.
Do you identify an opportunity for a new project for DDM? Then you immediately inform the executor.
“I supervise the boys, act as a link between the main foreman and the team and ensure that the work runs smoothly. And I make coffee. But they have to be there on time. I throw it away at five to seven. We get to work at exactly seven o'clock. And not a minute later.
My work is very varied. Sometimes I work with a broom, then I sit on the crane or in an aerial platform. Or I am carrying out a complicated precision job with a cutting torch. Yes, I delegate and coordinate, but my own hands are also desperately needed. Happy.
To do this job well, you have to have a certain mentality. We work hard and are always outside. And I mean that very literally. Even if it is minus ten or the rain is pouring down, we will at most put on an extra coat. We never stop. That's either in you or not. On projects I often see other companies go home at half past three, while we work until six o'clock as standard. I'm proud of that, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Who is this work suitable for? Well, you should at least be able to handle stress well. You have to be able to deal with people and with criticism. And ideally you come out of the scrap yard. Because demolition is a world apart. As a construction foreman, for example, you see things grow and become beautiful under your hands, we break everything down. But hey, if you like what others dislike, just like me, then this is a job for life.”

“The project that I remember most? Austria. It involved the demolition and dismantling of a six-storey building. That building was full of machines and even a complete laboratory. These furnishings would be sold by the client and therefore had to remain in perfect condition. A challenge that gave great satisfaction. And not only that. We were there from September to June. Even in winter. After work I went skiing. An unforgettable adventure in every respect.”
